Refrigerated Transportation

Refrigerated transportation (or reefer freight) is a method for shipping freight that requires special, temperature-controlled vehicles. The vehicle transporting the products being shipped has a built-in refrigeration system that keeps products at a desired temperature throughout the transportation process.

Temperature Control

Temperature Control Includes any environment in which the temperature is actively or passively controlled at a level different from that of the surrounding environment, within precise pre-defined limits.

Perishable Foods

Perishable foods are those likely to spoil, decay or become unsafe to consume if not kept refrigerated at 40 F° (4.4 °C) or below or frozen at 0 F° (-17.8 °C) or below. Examples of foods that must be kept refrigerated for safety include meat, poultry, fish, dairy products, and all cooked leftovers.

Less-than-Truckload (LTL)

Less than Truckload refers to the transport of goods that does not require the entire space of a truck. This is also referred to as LTL shipping.

Full Truckload (FTL)

Full Truckload refers to the transport of goods that will fill up a 48’ or 53’ trailer, by volume or weight. Full Truckload shipping is typically contracted by one customer gaining full and exclusive use of the trailer. This is also referred to as FTL shipping.

Long Haul Expedited (Team Transit)

The goal of expedited freight shipping is to cut out all wasted time delivering the goods, to their destination, on a time-sensitive basis. Trucks transporting expedited freight rarely stop along the way to get goods delivered in the timeliest manner. To prevent any hours of service violations, as defined by the Department of Transportation (DOT), a team of two drivers are paired to meet delivery timelines.
